I find a lot of stuff on Instagram that gounds and inspires me.

This really hits home for me as it seems to encapsulate - so simply and yet so profoundly - our philosophy and motivation for doing what it is we do as Bubu Future.

You are a soul wearing a human disguise. This first point is, to me, the biggest one, and the hardest one to swallow. It flies directly in the face of what it is we’re experiencing on the reg. We live in seemingly hermetically sealed skin-suits (that we are ashamed of for some reason, and feel the need to adorn/cover) that separate us from the rest of the world. What do you mean I’m not separate from you? From the earth?

Life feels like a stage upon which we were plopped when we were born, and depending on the circumstances surrounding our childhood/upbringing/past, the world can seem adversarial — like we are just here to try and survive. If you’ve somehow managed to get the the survival part down, it can then begin to feel as though everyone is following a script, but the director forgot to mail you your copy before you were shuttled through the inter-dimensional portal that is your mom’s vagina (s/o Duncan Trussell). OOPSIES

But this brings us to the second point: Nobody knows what’s going on

People will act like they know, but they don’t. It’s impossible to prove because it’s not a thing external to ourselves that we can point at and say: yes, this is what’s going on. It’s completely dependent on your POV. The powerful thing is that because we know that’s the case, there’s work that can be done on an individual basis to figure out “what does all this happening mean to YOU”. It’s impossible for anyone one person to say “this is what’s going on” without making some core assumptions on the part of everyone else. What’s going on is relative. But all that remains is: what’s it mean to you?

And finally, the fact that everything is a miracle.

Everything is a miracle because it doesn’t make sense that anything exists in the first place. Given that that’s the case, it’s an easy next step to learn to simply appreciate the magic of every day life. And with this child-like appreciation that we can still tap into, this is where the energy to do what we do, the yearning to discover what it is we want, and the drive to go get it comes from.

I get it - sometimes it just feels like we’ve seen it all before. Nothing to watch on Netflix. Social media feeds are a never ending assembly line of things that almost hit the mark but don’t quite. But I urge you to really consider the fact that literally anything can happen next, and no amount of analyzing statistics about the past will get you to know exactly what’s going to happen next. And because it’s all a miracle anyway, why not take a chance on yourself and starting dreaming and doing?

What we are doing as Bubu Future is rooted in all of this. Don’t let the commerce fool you — this is all an act of love.
