Put together a little YouTube video highlighting our time selling at the College of Dupage Buy/Sell/Swap event on September 5, 2024.

It was my first time being a vendor at an event like this, although I’d be lying if I said I never wondered what it would be like to be on the other side of the folding table. I think I’m very much an outgoing introvert (I think this could be fake but it sounds right to me) - I like being around people and I think that I can really shine in the spotlight given the right conditions, but I get energetically drained from being around others. I do admit, I was pretty wiped by the end of the day but I think it’s like anything else — it gets easier with practice. Not to mention the rush of the sale - I haven’t felt this so directly/immediately in a long time.

I feel like so much of my adult life has been like a long, at times bumpy, and gradual buildup for a payoff that perpetually seemed to be just around the corner. For me, so much of the satisfaction and joy that I get from sourcing and selling an item of clothing comes from the closing of so many little loops. The ability to do so in person at this event was like a rush of little wins. It was awesome.

The other big plus of this event was just having fun spreading the vibe. We said it to almost everyone we got to meet - it’s not really about the clothes.
